I hear you. A poor man's version of this is to update the resource file so that instead of the word "Compressed" you change it to your liking. The resource file is at App_GlobalResources\GalleryServerPro.resx and the item is named Task_Download_Objects_Select_Image_Size_Compressed_Option. You can use any text editor to change it.

The thumbnail item is named Task_Download_Objects_Select_Image_Size_Thumbnail_Option and the high res item is named Task_Download_Objects_Select_Image_Size_Original_Option.

Of course, this trick only gives a new name to the thumbnail, compressed, and original objects, but maybe it will help a little.
