I upgraded 2.2 -> 2.3 and the site is up and running.

I enabled Enabled user albums in the user settings and each time I logged in, an error occurred and I could not continue (see attached). I was able to reconnect to the gallery entry page by clearing browser cookies and cache. I was unable to login to disable the user albums, but finally found the entry in the galleryserverpro.config file and disabled it there.

Also, each time I tried to login, a new album was created for the same user (even though I was only able to see the error warning notice page.

I can't tell which error occurred under which circumstances, but one of the errors is happening when trying to copy the album owner role template named _Album Owner Template. Have you modified this role? Try deleting the role and letting GSP recreate it.

If you still have trouble, let's focus on one error at a time. Tell me what steps are necessary to reproduce it.

I was able to confirm that at least one of these errors can occur if you have specified an album in the album owner role template. This role is used as a template for the permissions given to each user for their personal album and is not intended to have albums assigned to it. Either delete the role to have GSP recreate it or make sure no albums are selected.

I will log this as a bug so that GSP can more gracefully handle this.

You are correct. I had selected an album in the album owner role that I wanted users to be able have those permissions in.

I've deleted the album owner role, and then "enabled user albums" and set the album in the user settings to define where the user albums should be created.

I did not modify the album owner role this time.

All appears to be working properly with this feature.

Tks,
John

Update 2009.6.3: This bug has been fixed in version 2.3.3440.

Great. I already coded a fix for this. In the next release, you are able to assign albums to the owner template role. These assignments will carry over to the actual role that is created for each user.
