2.3 is a great improvement. Kudos on the error log in admin now.

The sort order is different. I want my images sorted by modified date or however it was before.
What happened. all my pictures are different?

I sent you a donation. Maybe you other forum readers will pony up as well :)
keep up the good work.

After investigating this with John, we determined that the sort order was preserved for all the albums. There were a couple albums, however, that were deleted and then re-added. When this occurs, GSP cannot preserve the sort order because it has no idea the new objects were the same as the previously deleted ones.

I accept your apology, and I hope your sleep improves soon.

1. Can the albums be displayed in reverse order?

The only way to do this at the moment is to manually rearrange them (Actions - Rearrange objects). Additional sorting options are coming in 2.3, due in later 2009. If you are SQL-inclined, you can update the Seq column in the gs_Album and gs_MediaObject tables to control the order.

Any news on the sorting options ?
Also it would be nice to be able to select an EXIF data field to be the default caption for the pictures, like date picture taken or the caption field from Google Picasa.
At the moment I am using this http://www.jigar.net/applications/album/index.aspx photo album on my web site because it is very simple, even my 80 year old grandma can navigate through it. I was able (after 2 weeks) to modify the code so now it automatically extracts EXIF date picture taken and puts it as caption for the picture.
But now I would also like to add videos to my site and that is why I am testing Gallery server pro.

Unfortunately, I had to push the sorting feature to 2.4, but it is a top priority for that version.

If you send me an image with data in the caption metadata field, I will study it to see if I can get GSP to extract it. I imagine that would help a lot of people. roger*at*techinfosystems*dot*com.

Since GSP already extracts date picture taken, it would be pretty easy for a programmer to tweak a few lines of code to use that for the caption.
