Hallo

Can Gallery Server Pro autorotate thumbnail before displaying them if the exif information says picture is rotated?

The current version does not automatically rotate based on the EXIF data, but it is on the list of features to be added. No timetable has been set.

For now, there is built-in functionality to manually rotate images.

Hi Roger,
almost 2 years later i want to ask if you still have this on your list or if this is already implemented ?
If yes , my 2.4.5 version can't do it.

Thanks
Andi

Sorry, the feature isn't there yet, and it isn't very high on the priorities. I am happy to include it in a future release if someone wanted to volunteer to implement it. The API already exists to rotate an image and extract metadata - someone just needs to put the pieces together.

Not at the moment, but I expect to add a blog post shortly after releasing 2.4.6 with a new roadmap. 2.4.6 should be out within a few weeks.

Even point and shoots record orientation, and almost every other app out there utilizes the metadata so I'm reluctant to physically rotate the images for fear of making them sideways in other viewers. I would think this would be a high priority as it has such a significant human intervention requirement in what is otherwise a fairly hands-free gallery.

Is there a easy way to implement a rotate feature in the display of the image dynamically?
For example, press L to rotate Left, but no changes are made anywhere, only the display rotates for that moment.
