Hi

I thought (my fault of not reading through the forum) when I installed GalleryServerPro that it would not be any problem making a Virtual Directory which points to a file share....

It seems that this is not supported, which again means if you have 1TB of media, you will need to copy this to the GalleryServerPro server, which again means you need a BIG hdd....

I saw somewhere on the forum that the next version of GalleryServerPro will support this feature.... When can we expect the new version which supports media on another server?

Also: If anyone know of a way to make GalleryServerPro check users against AD (Active Directory instead of SQL, it would have been very nice if they could provide a HowTo?

Regards,

The next version will most likely be out by the end of the summer (or end of the winter for you upside down folk). I have not yet announced which features will be in this version, but will do so as soon as I can.

As for AD integration, I am hoping to put together a how-to for this within the next couple months. If anyone can do this for me, I can put more energy into developing the next version.

Oki.

As for having the pictures and stuff on a fileserver, I found a solution :). Windows have a little known program that can make symbolic links.... ( mklink.exe) it seems it can also make this symbolic link to a share on another server, so what I did:

I used mklink with /d to make a symbolic directory under mediabjects and it is now syncing :) yeah.....

Haven't really tested much (since it is still syncing.... says it's gonna use 3-4hours on it.... ) but hopefully this works fine...

Anyway: If someone could make a HowTo for AD integration, that would be awesome or maybe LDAP is the way to go, but that's the same result in the end :)

Hi

Just a reply since I was a little uncertain mklink.exe worked or not and it works just fine :)

So now I only need the AD integration :)
