PDF icons are not being created and the failure below is being logged:

Faulting application convert.exe, version 5.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4ea300ec, faulting module VCOMP100.DLL, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3e3d5, exception code 0xc0000135, fault offset 0x00009f5d, process id 0x1550, application start time 0x01cce403e0093e63.

I have it working correctly in my local II7 install on windows7 but not my server 2008. Here is the info from the 2008 install:
Application Information
Trust level: Full
.NET Framework version: 4.0
IIS app pool identity: IIS APPPOOL\ASP.NET v4.0
FFmpeg.exe found? Yes
ImageMagick found? Yes

Any suggestions for debugging?

Have you installed GhostScript? If so, you might try leaving GSP out of the equation and running convert.exe at a command prompt to see if you can get it to work manually. I'm not sure, but the error details might show you the command parameters being used. If not, you'll have to track down some documentation for ImageMagick to get the syntax. It's not hard.

Roger, thanks for the response. I have run convert.exe from the Gallery/bin directory on the command line for the same PDF on my local system and on the server. In both cases it creates a jpg ok of the first page.
The syntax for a simple convert is convert.exe file.pfd[0] file.jpg

The server version still fails to create a jpg of the first page when uploading or synchronizing. Both systems have the same versions of everything installed and IIS options are the same. I have no problems otherwise with uploads and image deletes, but could there be some other security issue? What next?

Are you able to run the command line test on the server? Most likely something has gone wrong with the ImageMagick/GhostScript side, since GSP simply passes the request to them. So if you can get it running from the command line, the gallery should work, too.

Yes I can run convert.exe successfully from the command line on the server. It creates a pdf icon as expected and without error. It just fails in GSP when uploading or synchronizing. I am just running the simple test as shown in my previous post. convert.exe file.pfd[0] file.jpg which create an icon in a temp folder from a pdf already in the media folder.

I am stumped. Does GSP's error log tell you anything other than what you already posted?

No. GSP does not log an error. I will continue to look for differences between my local IIS install and the Server 2008 install. Will let you know what I find. If you think of anything else to check in the meantime please let me know.
