Hi,

on a fresh dnn6 installation I have difficulties installing GSP.

Error: "A dependent component is not installed - "

Dotnet 4 is installed
SQL Server CE x64 DEU is installed

Does anyone here have the same issue or a clue how to fix this?

Haven't seen that before. That's not a lot of info to go on. Do you seen any clues in DNN's event log?

Hi,

sorry for the lack of Detail. I know that's poor ...

The Event Viewer doesn't show anything. When I install other modules it shows lots of details! so It appears the installations stops before it's a significant event.

Everything I have is the following:

Upload Results

If you have reached this page it is because the installer needs to gather some more information, before proceeding.

StartJob Reading Installation Manifest file

Info Reading Package Manifest - Module - TechInfoSystems.GalleryServerPro

Failure A dependent component is not installed -
----------------------

Any idea where I could go looking?

Verify you are meeting the minimum requirements: DNN 5 or higher; .NET 4.0, running in full trust.

If it's not one of those (and I don't think it will be), the only thing I can think of is to start with a fresh DNN install against a new database and try GSP on that. If it works (and it should), then start comparing the two installations to see what is different.

That's a fair amount of work, and I hate suggesting it, but I can't think of anything better...

The DNN Dashboard shows under "Database-Server" the following:

Database Version:The version of SQL Server 10.0.4000.0 Service Pack:Installed Service Pack(s) SP2 Product Edition:The Edition of SQL Server installed Express Edition (64-bit) Software Platform:The full description of the SQL Server Software Platform installed. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP2) - 10.0.4000.0 (X64) Sep 16 2010 19:43:16 Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation Express Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

Is that OK?

For the Web Server, the DNN Dashboard shows:

OS Version:The version of Windows on the server. Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Web Server Version:The version of Internet Information Server (IIS) Microsoft-IIS/7.5 .NET Framework Version:The version of .NET 2.0.50727.5446 ASP.NET Identity:The Windows user account under which the application is running. This is the account which needs to be granted folder permissions on the server. IIS APPPOOL\dnn6 Host Name:The name of the Host Computer homeserver Physical Path:The physical location of the site root on the server. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnn6\dotnetnuke6 Site Url:The principal url for this site. kastrup.homedns.org/dotnetnuke6 Relative Path:The relative location of the application in relation to the root of the site. /dotnetnuke6 Server Time:The current date and time for the web server. 10/7/2011 3:33:55 PM

I have highlighted the .Net part. Does that mean it's not using .Net4 ?

Sorry I'm just poking around here.

I've tested GSP standalone before an I really like it. It would be nice if I coul integragte it into the DNN site .

You found it: Your site is running under .NET 2.0, and GSP requires .NET 4.0.

Thank you, that worked.

After changing the Application pool of DNN6 in the IIS Management console from .Net 2.0 to .Net 4.0 the GSP Installation did work.

PS: I really don't know why Dotnetnuke6 installed itself on .Net 2.0 ... even though I have .Net 4.0 on the system. Tse ...
