Hi,

LOVE the product.

However, I uploaded a lot of AVI files and they do not play

looking at the specific error in windows media player I get:

Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

mp4 and other files seem to play correctly.

Have I missed something?

Thank you

Denis

Have you tried uploading one of your AVI files to the demo site? If it doesn't work there either (or is too big to upload), can you send me one for my analysis? Use roger*at*techinfosystems*dot*com.

FYI, the root cause often has to do with a codec being incompatible with the browser plug-in.

Also looks like its pointing to the right place..

Doing a "properties" over the "media" it shows

http://www.xxxxx.com/gal...id=426&dt=3&g=1

and doing "error details" shows

Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

bit lost here..

Thanks

If you post that URL into a new browser window, does the video work?

just to make sure there are no firewalls doing things, I have connected directly to server via

http://192.168.0.10/gallery

same thing.

Hmm, I am at a bit of a loss, especially without access to your server.

1. Can you construct an URL that points directly to the file? Ex: http://www.site.com/gs/m...cts/myAlbum/myVideo.avi Does that work when pasted into your browser?

2. Do you see anything interesting in GSP's error log?

3. Download the AVI in the demo site and upload that to your gallery. Same behavior?

4. Do you see the same behavior from other browsers on other computers? Considering this is an AVI file, any browser will need the WMP plug-in.

5. The evidence points to something unique to your installation. Try searching the web for that error message to see if anything interesting appears.
