Like this easy to use photogallery and we use it on our Intranet whit great entertainment for our employee.

There is two things that i like to see in upcoming versions.

1. A "Randomizer" that just do that whit pictures in one album. There is times you dont whant to have the pictures lined up by filename.

2. I think its sometimes hard do scroll through a large album. There would be nice whit a page splitup. Maby there is a solution on this already that i missed in the forum.

Best regards

Patrik

Thanks for your suggestion. I plan to add additional options for specifying order within an album, and I will consider adding a randomize option.

I don't quite understand your second suggestion. Are you asking for paging ability on the album view, so that a large album is split into a few pages with, say, 100 images on each page? If so, how is that easier than having all the objects on a single page?

Maby its may personal opinion, not so much into scrolling mile after mile.

And its more of a "locating" the picture feature. Ex. Look at the picture in album X and on page X. Instead of In the album on row X.

But i understand the concept of keeping it simple. And said before, i like this gallery. :)

Hi Roger,

I agree with Melker's second observation. Most of my albums are small, but I do have a few very big albums (i.e. over 500 images) as I organize my albums by events.

One user complained that my server was too slow but I found that it was because she was in a few of the large albums with hundreds of thumbnails. With smaller albums it was ok. It makes the gallery seem more "snappy" if we can customize the max number of thumbnails to show per "page" of an album.

With my previous gallery software I used to set the maximum of images per "page" (e.g. max 5 columns by 20 rows). Loading a page of 100 thumbnails is a LOT faster than a page of 600 thumbnails. The "page" concepts allows the user to navigate next/previous page or by clicking on the page number to quickly jump to certain page of the album. I have already divided some events (over 2000 photos) into smaller albums of no more than 500 photos but didn't want to further divide them as it would be a distraction to the themes of activities within each event.

Has there been any further activity on adding a paging feature to the galleries? This is a great app, but I do feel that's a feature that's missing for large galleries.

The feature has been scheduled for 2.3, due next year. If anyone volunteers to implement the code, I will make sure to incorporate it in the next release.

See the roadmap for a full schedule of upcoming releases.
