I just attempted an update to 2.5.0 from 2.3.3512.

This is Win2k3 Server x86. Since .Net 4.0 is required (and 2.3.3512 doesn't say that it supports .Net 4.0), I stepped my upgrade to 2.3.3750 first and then upgraded from .Net 2 to 4. I was able to see my gallery.

I then upgraded to 2.5 by dropping in the upgrade files. Renamed the galleryserverpro.config to galleryserverpro_old.config (I didn't see any web.config in this package, or anywhere on the website). Proceeded to the ?g=upgrade page and went through the process, though I noticed that on the "galleryserverpro.config" section of the upgrade page it noted: "Not needed: Version 2.4 and higher does not use galleryserverpro.config."

I goto my gallery and nothing is there. I can't log in.

My assumption is that no configuration was migrated. I have everything backed up, but don't know what to do next so that everything is move over.

One thing I just tried was to copy the connection string between the new and old web.config. Ran the upgrade again, but there was no change.

I am digging into this issue. For now can you revert to 2.3.3750 under .NET 4? I'll post again when I have more info.

I assume you are using SQLite? Can you send me the file galleryserverpro_data.sqlite.sqlite in your App_Data directory? I will try to repro the issue. Send it to roger*at*techinfosystems*dot*com.

I just helped another user migrate his data, and I had to delete some text in one of the records to get it to work.

OK. Two questions.

1. Look in the gs_AppSettings table and tell me the value you see for the record where SettingName='DataSchemaVersion'.

2. Can you send me your web.config file? Mask any SQL passwords in there for your protection. I want to make sure it is pointing to your SQL Server providers.

One note: You should not have received the message "Not needed: Version 2.4 and higher does not use galleryserverpro.config" the first time you ran the upgrade, since at that moment the database should have still been at the 2.3 schema (when the schema is 2.4.*, that message is shown). However, you may receive that message if you try to run the upgrade wizard a second time after a failed first attempt.

Simply rolled back to my original version (via my backups), stepped to latest 2.3.x revision (for .NET 4), then upgraded to 2.5. Was careful to keep the rename the old galleryserverpro.config this time. All is well.

Thanks for the help, Roger.
