Sorry, I searched but not find what I was looking for. I downloaded the standard GSPro and ran the install process. I got to the very end and I got this:

We're Sorry. The following products have faqiled to stall.
Gallery Server Pro - This product did not install successfully: The database "Gallery Server Pro" could not be created. Login failed for user "name".

I don't have a clue what to do at this point. My OS is WIN 7 64bit. Help!

Thank you.

John

It sounds like you are using the WPI version of GSP and the login failed when it tried to connect to SQL Server. Check the username and password. If you can't get it, try installing the stand-alone version instead and use SQLite as your data storage option. You don't have to mess with SQL Server that way.

The password thing will not work. Ok, I dl GSPro 64bit (standalone) since I use a 64bit system anyway. I unpacked the dl zip file but I do not see a way to install it! Also how would I tie in SQLite to this stand alone version. Sorry I sound like such a dunce but this 68 year old mind of mine is a little confused. Also should I just uninstall the WPI version. all twelve applications or are there some I should keep. I've been a photo shooter since the darkroom days but now use digital and would like to have a nice gallery for my stuff. I plan to pay for a Web site from my ISP and up load GSPro as long as I can get it to work. One thing at a time I suppose. Thanks for your help. It's not often you can get help from the person who put the application together.

The Admin Guide has step by step instructions. If you would like extra help, I offer a standard installation on a server of your choice for $100.

Roger,

Unfortunately your Gallery Server Pro 2.4 (Web Platform Installer version)Build 2.4.8, Released May 1, 2011 would not finish installation. I have read your manual but do not have the skill set to do a manual install. Since I'm on a tight budget and am a retiree (fixed income) I will not be able to use your talents to install your product. It looks like a great application but I will need to go with a scaled down photo gallery such as JALBUM. I wish you well and stay safe.

I understand. You are not the first to have trouble with the SQL Server aspect of the WPI install version, and because of that, I am changing the next version to use SQL Compact CE, which doesn't require a separate database installation. It should provide a much smoother install process for many users.

This will be in version 2.5, due later this month.

I will wait until this new version is available and give it a try. Thanks for the info.
