Hi there,

I have just installed this Gallery Server Pro. I am wondering whether I could add a back link or button on the bottom of each web page which could link to the previous web page. In Particular, I would like to add a back link on the /default.aspx?aid=3 and /default.aspx?moid=8. Could you give me some advice on this? Many thanks in advance!

Wish you a very nice day!

Kind regards

That sounds like something you can do with plain HTML and javascript. I am not in a position to research this for you, thought, so I invite you to search the internet yourself. It should be pretty easy to find.

When you find out the code, you can add it to default.aspx. Any change there will appear on every page in the gallery.

Hello Roger, while that seems to be a "quick and dirty" answer and the solution is quite simple that way...

What happens when you UPGRADE to future versions of GSP ?
Is the default.aspx going to be overwritten forcing the same modification again and again and again?

Not shooting it down, as this is exactly the solution I employed, but it would be a nice feature to have and seems pretty simple to implement with a basic <A HREF...> forced into the first line of the body section of the default.aspx. If that "link back" were maintained in a configuration menu it would make it much easier to integrate the product into existing sites.

Yes, upgrading will overwrite your changes, so you'll need to re-apply them. Version 3, due later this year, will have a template system to allow you to customize the layout of the page. Since any changes to the template will be preserved during upgrades, that effectively solves the issue.
