We have decided to try gallery server pro for hosting pictures of accidents for claims and we are wanting to use gallery server pro for other similar situations but we would like to either be able to have a log file or history view created for whoever has viewed the pictures and or files that were in each album on a per file basis or both on the album and file levels.

So one option would be just a text file that just gets appended with information hidden.

The other option would be to integrate the history views of the album/file with a history button that would allow you to customize the range from ALL, 30 Day, 1 Week, Day.

All the history view would need would be a user name and time-stamp if displayed on the site if it were to be in a log file format then a user name, time-stamp, and the path\file (ex. album\xxx.jpg).

Thanks for the suggestion. Logging is in the long term plans but no ETA yet. Your idea of logging to a text file would be pretty easy to implement. For various reasons I wouldn't do logging this way in the main product, but if you have immediate requirements it might be sufficient.
