The Waskahegan Trail Association is new to the Gallery Server family (just donated today!). It appears to be exactly what our association was looking for but the one bit of functionality that made us hesistate was the lack of a simple, idiot-proof batch upload method for multiple files.

I realize that this is proposed for a future release but if this can be brought forward it would be greatly appreciated. Training a variety of people on using zip files (some of our members are older and a bit cybyer-phobic) is not something I am relishing and as a result will restrict how far and wide we distribute access to the system.

Our number one development request.

Cheers,
Frank Potter, Webmaster www.waskahegantrail.ca

Revamping the upload process is a top priority for the next major version. I am currently evaluating the Silverlight Multi File Uploader for possible integration.

I don't have a timeline yet but I will be getting to it as soon as I can.

Roger please hurray with a better batch upload process. Are experience a month in with 5 people is that the zip upload tool is a bit flacky. There is a limitation on using a Hotmail Zip (subject of another post) and we have hit a problem with 14MB zips timing out (currently looking into). In other word, life beyond zip sounds very fine.

Otherwise, thank you for a project that is otherwise intuitive and very quickly grasped by even basic users. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated on this - our association is looking forward to a long use of your product.

FYI, the Hotmail issue should be fixed with the new 2.4.6 release.

I will begin coding the new file upload process in the next few weeks and will release it as soon as I can.
