I have GSP installed on a Joomla site. I'm able to add "Like", "Share" and "Tweet" functions to the Joomla cms, and that's fine for the main site. But I would like to allow people to like, share and tweet albums and individual photos as well. I know the APIs are available for this since they appear everywhere. Would be great to have them added to every page in GSP.

It would take a fair bit of time, if it is even possible, to build in Joomla-awareness in GSP. I think this is a good project for a Joomla expert to tackle and then post the customized version of GSP. I don't imagine this is something we would add to the core.

Sorry for all the Joomla references in my posts. As before, I'm not talking about integrating with Joomla. I'm just using the platform as an example.

To be clear - my thought is to place Like, Post, and Tweet buttons in GSP (without regard to whether Joomla is being used or not) so that viewers of photos, galleries, or any content in GSP can click the appropriate button to cause the action.

Hope that clarifies my thought.

Sorry, I don't understand. If I put buttons in for those actions, how does GSP know what to do when they are clicked?

These things appear on lots of sites, but here's an example:
http://www.cmswire.com/c...mp;awt_m=1bn7UllD7an0sm

take a look at the top right of the article section - there is a Tweet and a Like button. I believe that what these do is pick up the current URL (directly to that item, not to the site) and include that in a function that lets the user include the link (usually abreviated) along with some text, and post to the site. I'm sure you can tell more about this function than I. Also, I would guess there are some open source snippets that would allow you to add these - someone in the community has done this before.

Thanks for listening.

What I think you are asking for is Twitter and Facebook integration into GSP. I will keep it in mind. Thanks for the suggestion.

Right. That's the short answer. Thanks.

FYI, I just posted a blog entry about adding Facebook comments to a gallery.
