Is there an easy way to display more details under the file name (file size, rating, etc.)?

Sorry, no there isn't. Your only option is to manually edit the caption. Note that you can use HTML to make it look nice if you enable HTML editing in the Site admin area.

If you are good with SQL you could update the title that way.
