ok here's a challenge for everyone. I'm tyring to use galleryserverpro to provide premium asf/wmv content to view-only users. For the past years, when someone buys a membership/subscription for access the security handled by htaccess and htpasswd on an apache webserver (as this is my primary website server) and i am able to chain asx files from m win2k8 wms/iis media server through the protected directories on the linux box that then streams the files to standalone windows media players. if you understand what i'm describing, you'd know it's a bit of a case of security by obscurity, but it has worked so far. I'd rather have a better configuration.
is it possible for a gsp installation on the iis 7.5/win2k8 server to somehow share an htpasswd file from the apache server? or is there a way to keep two files synched between the servers so that it's the same user/pass to access content on both machines?
any advice is appreciated
thank you!
